TED talks 2

I would like to introduce the TED talks again today.

Jane McGonigal: Gaming can make a better world
http://www.ted.com/talks/jane_mcgonigal_gaming_can_make_a_better_world.html

This presentation was taken by Jane McGonigal who is a game designer.
Why I'm into this presentation rely on following reasons.

At first, she has a new perspective.
She is suggesting we should play games more often and explaining why we should do so.
Actually I don't play games. I think spending more time for playing games would be wasted.
(There may be many people who have the same opinion.)
However, I could receive her suggestion because she didn't tell us to just play games.
She said that the gamers who have spent more than 10,000 hours on playing games are experts.
So to speak, there are great numbers of experts at something all over the world.
I really consent to her way of thinking and it's very important to consider the negative factor as possitive.
We can contemplate what or how to use them in.
She could find out several solutions but there might be other ideas.

Secondly, the construction of her presentation was very excellent.
I could listen to her speaking very naturally.
I think I want to follow her way of presentation.

Moreover, you can see another presentation made by her, titled "The game that can give you 10 extra years of life".
I like it too and it's also astonishing.
Please check it by yourself.

TED talks

We can see TED talks, which is presentation event, on website.
I often check this site because there are many movies of presentations prominant persons make.
These presentations are sometimes emphatic or hopeful or useful or funny.
A variety of talks make us excited.

Today I introduce the very valuable presentation made by Tali Sharot titled "The optimistic bias".
She talks about pros and cons of optimism. The persons who have an optimism are likely to success, but having only this property is not enough. We should be not only optimistic but also deliberate, namely we have to prepare for the future.

The structure of her presentation is very splendid and her voice is comfortable to listen to.
If you got interested in this talk, please access the website of TED.

Gaba

Gaba is the man-to-man English school.
It gives many levels' lessons and there are many options about a lesson style.
I received a free lesson today.

It was shock to find out I couldn't express my thought at all.
Exactly I was nervous and quite unused to this style's lesson, but I should have been able to speak better.
I thought again I wouldn't follow the lessons in the field unless I make a further effort while I'm in Japan.

After the free lesson, the counselor suggested me to receive short-term lessons for a month, though, it was too expensive for me. Since I have to save money, I won't receive additional lessons.
Actually Gaba gives us high quality lessons and it would be very helpful to brush our English skill.
If it wasn't so expensive, I could take lessons.

Haruki Murakami

Nowadays I read the book of "Haruki Murakami" international edition.
I like his book from the begining, and I'm trying to read in English.
Though there are many difficult words, I can predict to some extent because I have known the contents of the book.

He brought out many famous books, for example, "Norwegian Wood", "Kafka on the Shore", and "Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World".
Especially, "What I talk about when I talk about running" which is a memoir is easy to read comparatively.
He is a runner and he describes his running-life style.
Since I also like running, I feel some empathy for this book.

This is my recommendation.
If you are interested in Haruki Murakami or you are a runner, reading this book would be great for you.

AEON

Speaking of English school, the most famous one in Japan is "AEON".
I have three chances of taking free lesson in AEON because I enrolled in "Ryu-gaku journal" program.
I experienced the lesson today for the first time.

Actually, it was very fun and excited to talk with teachers and it made me confident.
I was happy because I could speak more fluently than I expected.
Moreover the counselor was very kind and she taught me the details of lessons.

Quality is so enough that I'm looking forward to taking next lesson.

See you.

Online English conversation

Today I took part in the online English conversation on Skype.
Though it was very difficult for me to express my thought in English, I enjoyed talking with the teacher from Philippines.

It took 25 minutes for 1 lesson and it included various contents, for example, free talk, vocabulary, describing about a picture, arranging sequent story and so on...

I think this must be valuable for me, so I will participate the other lecture on Skype from now.

See you.

Cold day

It was very cold and wind was very strong today.
I felt winter is coming.

By the flight to New Zealand on next month, all I have to do is studying English as much as possible.
Since I thought I should brush speaking skill, I subscribed English school on Skype.
There are free experiences and I will try one tomorrow.
If it will be good for me, I want to do for several times by next month.

Skype have already installed and trying is set.

See you tomorrow.

About this blog's title

I made a mistake yesterday.
I forgot to title the first post...

By the way, I have to describe this blog.
Recently I quit a job and decided to go to New Zealand so as to study new things.
As I mentioned yesterday, I don't have enough English skill now and I will go there next month.
As a result of thought to improve it, this blog was set up.

Of cource I try to send whatever I feel in New Zealand as of the date I go there.
I'm preparing to challenge now.
I decided to start this blog to brush my English skill.
Expressing what I think in English is difficult, but I believe I make it possible to use English usually.

Although my English is poor at this time, please be patient and be free to point out mistakes.
